View Seats
The free View seat, Viewer-only project access, and what a View user can still do.
8090 Software Factory has two seat types, Full and View. A seat decides which organization roles a person can hold. It doesn't grant any permissions by itself.
Seat types

The Includes column is the seat's usage allowance, not a set of permissions. A Full seat that nobody holds yet, or that a pending invitation holds, adds no allowance. What a person can do inside a project comes from their project role, which for anyone on a View seat is Viewer or a Viewer-compatible custom role.
View seats cost nothing, but an Admin still adds them in Manage Seats on Settings → Organization → Members before inviting View members. Full and View seats are separate pools.
What a View user can do
A View seat is more than read-only. On a free View seat a person can:
- Comment in Requirements, Blueprints, Work Orders, Knowledge Base, Feedback, and Skills.
- Search and read indexed code.
- Chat with the agent, which acts with their Viewer access. Their agent usage draws on the organization's shared pool and counts toward any usage limits.
This lets stakeholders follow the work and comment on it without using a Full seat.
Viewer access only
A View-seat person can only hold the Viewer project role, or a Viewer-compatible custom role, on any project. A Viewer-compatible custom role has a base of No Access or Viewer and sets no module to Editor. 8090 Software Factory rejects any other assignment, and the project role picker shows the higher roles as unavailable. To give someone more than Viewer, move them to a Full seat and the Member or Admin organization role.
Pending invites hold a seat
Both active members and pending invitations count toward seat use, so an outstanding invitation holds its seat until it is accepted, revoked, or expires.
Enterprise organizations
Enterprise organizations are billed outside per-seat pricing and have no seat limit. Their usage is covered by a separate agreement, so talk to your account team for the details.
