Organization Management
Manage organization members, roles, projects, seats, and shared templates.
An organization is a private workspace where teams collaborate across one or more Software Factory projects. Organizations define membership, permissions, usage limits, and shared resources such as templates.
Create an organization
When signing up for Software Factory, you can create an organization or join an existing organization through an invitation. The user who completes the initial signup becomes the organization admin.
Access organization settings
Organization administration is available from Settings:
Open Settings
Select Settings in the primary navigation.
Open Organization
Select Organization, then choose Members, Usage, Billing, or another organization section.
Admins can manage members, projects, templates, usage, and billing from the console.
Seat management
Organizations have a fixed number of seats:
- Organization admins manage seats.
- The system prevents adding members beyond the seat limit.
- No additional members can be added after the limit is reached.
Admins can change the seat count with Manage Seats and open subscription controls with Manage Subscription on the Members page.
Members and roles
Settings → Organization → Members lists every organization member and their assigned role. Members hold one of three roles — View, Member, or Admin. A View member has view-and-comment access and uses a free View seat (see Usage & Billing).

Grant admin access deliberately
Admins can manage membership, organization settings, shared resources, usage, and billing. Reserve this role for people responsible for the organization.
Manage projects across the organization
The Organization Console provides a consolidated view of every project. Admins can:
- View projects across teams.
- Edit project names.
- Archive projects.
Shared templates
Templates created within individual projects—including Blueprint and Work Order templates—can be promoted for organization-wide use. Shared templates help teams standardize workflows and reuse proven patterns across projects.
